Trauma-informed coaching is an approach that incorporates an
understanding of trauma's impact on an individual's mind, body,
and behaviour.

The Certificate in Trauma Informed Coaching will enable coaches to understand how past traumatic
experiences, whether psychological, emotional, or physical,
might influence a client's current life, goals, responses, and
interactions.

This awareness allows coaches to create a safe, supportive, and
empowering environment for clients to explore personal growth
and overcome challenges

By the end of the programme, participants will:

  • Differentiate trauma-informed coaching from therapy, counselling, mentoring, and consulting
  • Explain the neurobiological impact of trauma on behaviour, cognition, emotions, and relationships
  • Recognise signs of trauma activation, dysregulation, and survival responses in coaching clients
  • Apply trauma-informed principles to create psychological and emotional safety in coaching relationships
  • Use nervous-system-aware coaching interventions that support regulation and client resourcefulness
  • Demonstrate relational presence, attunement, and compassionate inquiry when working with trauma-affected clients
  • Identify ethical risks, contraindications, and red flags that require referral or additional support
  • Integrate trauma-sensitive language and questioning techniques into coaching practice
  • Reflect on the impact of personal triggers, bias, and countertransference within coaching relationships
  • Develop culturally responsive and inclusive approaches to trauma-informed coaching
